I like to remember photos from this series from Greece. The angle is very interesting, since I was above the birds, taking photos from a ferry. There was a great number of seagulls nearby and it was pretty tricky to isolate one or two. Anyway, I had a great time trying to make a photo worth keeping, and I think this is the one! What do you think?

Ilford HP5 plus 400 really gives that special grain to photographs. This 30-year old camera does wonders with the right film.

I have been trying to get a wave shot interesting as this one for years now. There’s a lot of wave-stuff in my archives, but this one… I love this one. It was in 2006, just 2 months after I bought my first compact digital camera, the Canon A700

Ok, my uncle gave me a 30-year old SLR camera in Fall 2011. So I bought Ilford 400 black and white film and began shooting (without plan). These are some of the shots, and I am definitely getting a new roll of film! I love what this camera does with a 50 mm lens. Photos here are mainly unedited and uncropped – just scanned film.

Long time ago I had a compact camera and was obsessed with macro.

Usually something is wrong. The light is wrong. Or the water. The duck is definitely moving too fast. But probably I’m doing something wrong. I guess this time everything went well.

Of course, no duck photo can be posted without THAT hilarious “duck song”:

Light played its game. The TV set produced the greenish glow, while the yellowish source is a simple light bulb in the next room.

A small water cascade of a stream somewhere in Austria. A slightly prolonged exposure (1/6) did the magic.

The title says it all, it is a detail of a ceiling ventilation system outlet in a large fair hall. I accidentally looked up and there it was.

These little bubble-balls get bigger and bigger if soaked in water. Pretty useless stuff that turned out to be very nice for photography purposes. The palette is so mild and calming, right?

At some point I really wanted to make a nice shot of wheat. There were several previous shots that were nice, but this one was somehow just what I wanted.

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my new photo blog. After many years, the “Bosko Martinovic Photography” photo blog is changing, and its domain name as well. The old moody-cat.com website served its purpose nicely, and it was even included in the “Web Design Index” due to its interesting design. It will continue to live, but in a different form and with a different content.
So what’s going to be new here on boskomartinovic.com? It will host a selection of photos from the previous 400 you had a chance to see, now mainly in 850px width (instead of 640px). The size of the photos is much larger now. I’ll be introducing new sections and categories, such as analogue photography, instagram shots… Some projects shall be presented as blog posts. The contents of this website continue to be protected under the “All rights reserved” clause.
Please, try to bear with me while I prepare everything.
Cheers,
Boško

This series of posts does not represent a true Project. It was more of a stubbornness mission and a learning curve. In June 2011, I wanted to learn to take nice, clear lightning photos. So, I just needed to stay tuned at my window/balcony for a really flashy summer storm :D.
This was my first successful take on this subject, it was June 2011. I was confused about the reddish tone of the photos, totally forgetting about the white balance! 😀 Oh, yes, there is another thing – I wanted to do it without a tripod. The idea is always to get lucky and take a shot at the exactly right time. I used the daytime ISO 100 to achieve contract and then set the exposture to 5 seconds. So, 5-freaking-second exposure without a tripod. What you get is many photos for deletion and a couple of very nice ones. Several seconds is enough time to catch 2-3 lightnings at the same photo, if the storm is severe enough, and you don’t need to stack several photos and edit stuff in Photoshop.
Check the shots out!
